History

Harris County Municipal Utility District No. 102 (the “District”) was created on June 18, 1975, pursuant to an order of the Texas Water Rights Commission (now known as the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, or “TCEQ”). The principal functions of the District are to finance, construct, own, and operate waterworks, wastewater, and drainage facilities and to provide such facilities and services to customers of the District. The District is subject to the continuing supervision of the TCEQ in certain matters.

At the time of its creation, the District contained approximately 743 acres of land. Subsequent annexations have increased the area of the District to its present size of approximately 818 acres. The District is located within the extraterritorial jurisdiction of the City of Houston, and is located approximately 23 miles northwest of the central business district of Houston. The District is located approximately 4 miles south of the intersection of U.S. Highway 290 and Texas Highway 6. The District is bounded on the west by Texas Highway 6, and West Little York Road bisects the District from east to west.

Subdivisions in the District include:
